Position Overview

RISE Charter School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades K–12. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping each student reach their highest potential in a caring, inclusive, and compliant learning environment. This individual will also play a key leadership role in managing a team of highly capable paraprofessionals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in grades K–12, ensuring all services, supports, and accommodations are delivered appropriately.
  • Supervise and provide clear direction to a team of paraprofessionals, fostering collaboration, growth, and high standards of service.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all students with IEPs, including progress reports, meeting documentation, and communication logs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all state and federal regulations pertaining to special education services, including IDEA and Section 504.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to promote inclusive practices and facilitate student success in all learning environments.
  • Conduct timely assessments and participate actively in eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and reevaluations.
  • Use data-driven instructional practices and evidence-based strategies to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Promote a positive, respectful classroom culture where every student is seen, heard, and empowered to achieve.

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education (or the ability to obtain one in Idaho).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies.
  • Prior experience working with students with disabilities and leading paraprofessionals is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
