Position Overview: RISE Charter School is seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in laying the educational foundation for our youngest learners, fostering an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing our vision that we seek to provide an inspiring learning environment where every student matters, we embrace our mistakes as opportunities to learn, and we strive to see connections between our learning and the real world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging learning experiences tailored to the grade level and content standards.
  • Design optimal learning environment through implementation of routines and procedures and elements of teaching that increase rigor and participation.
  • Keen understanding of the science of reading and ability to implement research- based teaching practices to grow student’s reading abilities.
  • Develop and execute lesson plans that meet state standards and the developmental needs of students, incorporating projects, modeling, and instruction that foster essential skills.
  • Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions with students, focusing on personal and academic growth, setting and reviewing goals, and providing support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning, learning teaching strategies, and use of data to enhance our practice.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, fostering a partnership in education.
  • Use assessment data and progress monitoring to inform instruction.

Qualifications:

  • A valid teaching certificate with endorsements relevant to early childhood education is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education or related fields will also be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor and inspire students.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to engage in after-school and online training programs.
