Governance Rights
Except where limited or restricted by a collective bargaining agreement, the Board retains the right to operate and govern its affairs in such areas as but not limited to:
- The school calendar;
- The procedures to use in handling public complaints about employees;
- The nonteaching duties and responsibilities of teachers;
- The procedure for conducting teacher evaluations;
- When and under what circumstances a certificated employee will be placed on probation;
- Establishment of written contracts for certificated personnel;
- Establishment of contract notification dates;
- Extracurricular assignments;
- Personnel files;
- Direction, employment, dismissal, promotion, transfer, assignment, and retention of employees;
- Relieving employees from duties because of lack of work or funds and under conditions where continuation of such work would be inefficient and nonproductive;
- Maintenance of the efficiency of Charter School operations;
- The methods, means, job classifications, and personnel by which Charter School operations are to be conducted;
- Any actions necessary to carry out the missions of the Charter School in situations of emergency; and
- Establishment of the methods and processes by which work is performed.
The Board reserves all other rights, statutory and inherent, as provided by State law, the Articles and the Bylaws. The Board also reserves the right to delegate authority to the Executive Director for the ongoing direction of all Charter School programs.
