Good News
Our student council elections were held last week and the students not only gave amazing speeches but those who did not win showed great sportsmanship and cheered on the winners. Our community has been grateful for all of the community service the student have done the past few weeks and we have seen some of our shyest, more reserved, students step up and become amazing leaders. (HUGE Growth)

Discussion
-Students exiting RISE
-Board Member’s Phone Numbers on website? Do we want to do this or only names and school emails?
-Marketing Campaign SWOT by Nancy Roig (please see PDF) What RISE staff discussed at last Friday’s meeting: 1. Parent information night to address concerns with Summit. 2. Policies were brought up, parents and students would like them to be readily available. (RISE is working on the most efficient way to do this) 3.Teachers are our best salesmen. Staff discussed that they need to be sharing more positives from our students and more about Friday’s to counteract the negative feedback.
-Beginning of a PTSO They will have a booth on Monday, October 11th at parent night. They will hand out checklist of where to go as well as have volunteer information for parents. They will be organizing a Halloween party for the kids as well as helping find volunteers for the makerspace on Fridays in December. How are families that cannot attend getting the information? We could send out an email and/or informational flyer. How about our Spanish speaking families? Lacey can partner with Nancy and a few teachers to put together an informational packet in Spanish for these families. We are also working with the ELL KSD Staff members and putting together a night where they will come in and hear what is going on at RISE and about Summit. This is something they have done with all KSD families but wanted to present RISE families with stuff specific to them.
-Set up for NWEA MAP assessment We will be able to implement the first assessment by the 18th.
-High School: We need to start discussing what our plan is for high school-grades, teachers, marketing, space, ect.
-MOU update When can we expect to get a signed copy back from KSD board?
-Lottery When would we like to open the lottery up for the next school year?
-Open House/Ribbon Cutting? November 5th? During Parent/Teacher conference?
