Policy 4205: Parent Organizations and Booster Clubs

Parent Organizations and Booster Clubs

RISE Charter School recognizes the value of parent organizations, PTOs, booster clubs, and similar groups in supporting students, programs, and school culture. Such organizations may operate in support of the school with approval from the Executive Director.

Recognized organizations shall support the mission of the school and shall not direct school operations, personnel decisions, curriculum, student discipline, or other matters reserved to the Board of Directors and school administration.

All fundraising activities conducted in the name of the school or for the benefit of school programs must receive prior approval from the Executive Director or designee and comply with all applicable fundraising policies and procedures.

All volunteers participating in organization-sponsored activities shall comply with the school's volunteer policies, including any required background checks, applications, and training.

Use of school facilities, equipment, logos, or the school's name shall be subject to applicable Board policies and prior administrative approval.

Organizations shall maintain appropriate financial records and may not incur obligations on behalf of the school without prior written authorization. The school reserves the right to request financial reports from any organization representing itself as affiliated with RISE Charter School.

The Executive Director may establish procedures necessary to implement this policy and may revoke recognition of any organization that fails to comply with Board policy, administrative procedures, or applicable law.

This version is concise enough to fit within a policy manual while allowing the detailed requirements to live in administrative procedures and existing policies on fundraising, volunteers, and facility use.
