Executive Session:
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 74-206(1), the RISE Charter School Board of Education will meet in executive session to discuss one or more of the following: (a) & (b) Consider personnel matters; (c) Deliberate regarding labor negotiations or acquisition of an interest in real property; (d) Consider records that are exempt from public inspection; (e) Consider preliminary negotiations involving matters of trade or commerce in which this governing body is in competition with another governing body; (f) Communicate with legal counsel regarding pending imminently-likely litigation; (i) Communicate with risk manager/insurer regarding pending/imminently-likely claims; and 74-206(2) Conduct labor negotiations. EXECUTIVE SESSION ITEMS MAY BE DISCUSSED AND ACTED UPON, IF APPROPRIATE, IN OPEN SESSION. Only bolded items will be discussed.

Visitors are welcome to make brief comments about school programs, procedures, or items on the agenda per RISE Charter School Policy 1500P – Board Meeting Procedure. Personnel issues that involve students or staff are not items that may be discussed in open meetings. Visitors must keep all comments to 3 minutes or less.
Good News
-We have filled 8 of 11 spots!
-NWEA MAP has been administered to 90% of students
-80% of RISE Students have No Overdue Assignments

Approve Expenditures and Invoices 1. Field Trip Costs--(see attached documentation) 2. Payroll--(Marc Carignan)
Non-Routine Expenditures: 1. $4200 to divided among all staff except Mrs. Child for compensation for filling in for un-filled teaching positions 2. $6750—Robotics curriculum + 15 robots 3. $77.50 --Student of the Month yard signs (5) 4. Ratify Hiring Nancy Roig part time Marketing Director
Action Items—all items that require a vote
1. Adopt last meeting's minutes.
2. Match KSD “Hard to Fill Sub” raise?
a. Bachelor's Degree + sub training OR subbed 100+ days in KSD= $125/day
b. HS Diploma, no college degree + sub training= $110/day 3. Transportation cost Increase—update MOU?
a. The new cost per mile was updated: Our cost is now $6.86/mile. Per the MOU, RISE will pay the non-reimbursable portion of field trips to KSD. Allowable field trips are reimbursed at 80%. RISE will owe 20% which is $1.37/mile. Non-allowable field trips are not reimbursable. (Calculate these costs for board to see).
4. Cancelling school
a. At what point (% Of teachers? % Of students?) Do we cancel school because of excessive illness?
b. How does cancelling independent of KSD impact our instructional hours requirement? Will we have to make up these days at the end of the year? How would this impact transportation? 5. Grand opening – set the date, set an agenda
Enrollment
1. On 10/22 we had 11 open spots. As of 11/2 we currently only have 4 spots open. At the new quarter we filled 7 spots. (Update 11/3/21: One more 8th grade student has
completed registration paperwork with another promised.)
Marketing
1. Results of High School interest survey.
a. Impact -- RISE high school? Grades? Class size?
2. Family Fundraiser, Festival of Trees, RISE Makerspace Fair, Social Media posts 3. PTSO update?
